For the first current event, you will find a story that is related to the us government shutdown. The story can come from any reputable source. Sources such as New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, NPR to name a few are good places to look.
The second current event can be about anything else in the government. A court case, someone exercising their 1st amendment rights, to give a few examples. The assignment is due at the beginning of the next class period.
